Ocean Network Express (ONE) is the 6th largest container ship operator worldwide, with a fleet of highly recognisable magenta vessels and containers. To mark the maiden call of the company’s M.V. ONE Columba, a 14,000 TEU vessel, at Laem Chabang Port in Thailand, ONE’s Bangkok branch reached out to us to produce a video of the event.
Our video documents the historic arrival of the Neopanamax vessel to Thailand while on her maiden voyage from a shipyard in Japan to pick up her first-ever containers. We filmed as she berthed at Laem Chabang Port, together with her being loaded with containers that arrived at the port via rail, truck, and barge. Consequently, this video required a lot of coordination and approvals from local authorities to film since the port, highway, and rail scenes were filmed over several days until departure.
Once the content was finalised, we posted this video on our LM YouTube, where it received over 351,000 views. Plus, it was posted on the ONE HQ YouTube where it received a further 220,000 views. On a side note, an editor from the Science Channel who was making a documentary series called “Monster Ships” saw our video and requested our raw footage to use in their production.
