Bangkok Barge Terminal Asks Lentus to Create an Introductory Animation

Bangkok Barge Terminal (BBT) offers a quick and convenient way to move cargo from Bangkok to Laem Chabang Port or vice versa via waterways, helping to avoid traffic and speed up delivery times. As a joint venture between Sahathai Terminal and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, BBT is the first Inland Container Depot to sit on a prime location along the Chao Phraya River, offering river barge services and on-site customs clearance.

To educate the market about its revolutionary services, BBT asked Lentus to produce an animation that would allow importers, exporters, freight forwarders, and shipping lines to see the benefits of this new method of moving cargo to and from Laem Chabang Port from various inland points in Thailand. However, as most companies traditionally use road or rail transportation to move cargo within Thailand, the challenge was to enlighten potential customers to the advantages BBT offers with its river barge services in an easy to digest manner.

Our solution was to create a clean and impactful animation that highlights how barging offers a less expensive option to truck or rail transportation modes and simultaneously causes far less impact on the environment. In addition, reducing the number of trucks on the highway also means far less wear and tear to road surfaces, saving money on maintenance, and generally eases traffic for other road users.

This animation took a lot of technical skill and knowledge to make the movement of the trains, trucks, and barges as lifelike as possible, not to mention the required geographical understanding of the logistical flow of all three modes.
